“Good morning!” — two simple words that make our entire Saturday.
Market mornings start early for us at The Crusty Cottage. Our alarm clocks ring around 5:00 AM, long before the sun rises over Lake Country. The first task of the day is getting everything packed and ready: fresh sourdough loaves, baked goods, display baskets, tables, and of course our market tent.
Once the truck is loaded, we grab a much-needed cup of coffee and head out the door.
By the time you see us, we’ve already had a full morning. The tent is up in its big purple glory, the bread is stacked and ready, and we’re usually running on a healthy mix of caffeine and excitement.
You can find us each week at the Lake Oconee Farmers Market, which runs 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM and is one of the best places to experience the heart of our local community.
The market is always bustling. As you walk through the rows of tents, you’ll find just about everything — handmade crafts, candles, soaps, woodwork, fresh milk and eggs, local vegetables and fruit, cakes, donuts, popsicles, ice cream, and so much more.
And of course… sourdough.
It’s one of our favorite parts of the week because we get to meet so many of you face-to-face. Conversations over bread, familiar smiles returning each Saturday, and new visitors discovering sourdough for the first time — that’s what makes market mornings so special.
Most weeks, our bread sells out around 10:30 AM, but we like to stick around afterward to walk the market and support the other incredible small businesses that make this community so vibrant.
If you’re planning to visit, our advice is simple:
Come early and come hungry.
We can’t wait to see you at the market.
