Frequently asked questions

How long will it stay fresh?

It will last 7-10 days from the day it is baked. Sourdough bread is like a living breathing organism. It is attracted to anything in its environment that it can absorb making it easier to hold moisture.

Our bread doesn’t have any preservatives in it. We suggest consuming it within 7-10 days or pre-slicing it then freezing (freezer shelf-life is 6 months).

Can I freeze it?

Yes! Freezing does not change the quality of the bread. It is a great way to maximize your loaf. The best way to freeze it is to pre-slice it, then place it in a freezer bag. You can then take it out as desired. Freezer shelf-life is 6 months.

To thaw: simply place it in a toaster oven and toast, or if it is still in a whole loaf, then let it sit out on the counter for 8 hours.

Is it pre-sliced?

It is not. We don’t pre-slice because this can cause it to dry out and become stale.

We only recommend pre-slicing if it is going directly into the freezer.

Is it gluten-free?

No, it is not. We do wish that we could offer a gluten-free option, however the flour dust flies everywhere and there is no way we would not cross-contaminate. We would rather be safe than sorry.

Sourdough is a naturally fermented bread where the harsh elements of the wheat are broken down during the bulk fermentation process. With that being said, you could potentially enjoy it if you are gluten intolerant (not for celiac).

There is no guarantee. It is a trial-and-error process unfortunately.

When is it baked?

We bake everything the day before it goes out of the bakery. If we restock a store on Tuesday, then it gets baked on Monday. Same thing with shipping.

If we have an event on Saturday, it gets baked on Friday. We aim for it to be within 24 hours of leaving the bakery so you get the freshest baked goods.
